With the Trade Floor at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas
nearly filled, the International Association of Airport Duty Free
Stores (IAADFS) is optimistic that the return to the Marriott
World Center in Orlando will boost attendance and exhibitors.
The Association may well be faced with a major test of its advocacy
skills as a new WHO proposal is threatening to tax all
alcohol sold to travelers.
Inflight specialist concessionaire Duty Free World announces
its newest concession -- a five-year contract with Mexicana
Airlines.
People News. L'Oreal Produits de Luxe's Eric Lauzat is being
given responsibility for an expanded area that once again includes
South America as Javier Labarta is named the next GM of
Parbel.
Georg Faisst is named Head of Travel Retail at fashion house
Hugo Boss.
Inflight. Registration is now open for airlines to attend the
2010
ISPY - Inflight Person of the Year -- event taking place in the
UK next September. Online registration will end on Jan. 31, says the
event organizer, Travel Retail Training, as a new ISPY+
program is being added to the schedule.
Special Report: Quicker regional recovery in South America?
A new report from the United Nation's Economic Commission for
Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) announced last week that
economic recovery in the region will be quicker than originally
forecast, and is projected to reach a growth rate of 4.1%. Growth
will be led by Brazil and the rest of South America.
Supply Side: Absolut Vodka goes Tropical with its
latest launch, which is the company's first travel retail exclusive
limited edition.
